Had Dong ri/zi or something today. Heard that its only celebrated by cantonese. Its the equivalent of a New Year for cantonese.

On this occasion, its to be celebrated by eating tangyuan aka flour balls with or without fillings in it in some soup.

First time celebrating it. For past years my family didn't get to celebrate it cos its always happening on a weekday and srsly, its not a public holiday and no one has time. Yes we do eat tangyuan still, but not in the mood in which it should be.

So today's dinner at my relative's was quite filling. Had probably the best roasted duck i've eaten and i've eaten lots of em. Saw the biggest Boiled whole chicken in my life. Saw the first time LALA go unfinished. First time drank only 2 cans of Rootbeer. First time didn't ransack their fridge.

Kayla (niece) recognises me even though shes 3.

Played with my other nephews and nieces, aarun and arruna, male and female respectively. They are Indians as you can guess from their name but are currently being converted to being a full chinese, other than for their skin colour after the divorce with their indian father.

Aarun is SO much fun. He gets fooled by the simplest of magic tricks and he gets so fascinated by it he goes around performing the trick he was just taught. Even though he did it wrong, we still had a great laugh.

Have to meet group members tmr to start on the projects. Not gonna be an exciting one. Brain cracking shall begin tmr.

For now, superman returns, SUCKS.

Bye

Was feeling sickish the past few days. Got to the peak of hell yesterday. Totally cui, coughed so regularly my throat got totally inflamed. My voice turned from a originally hunky voice to a TOTALLY super duper lowwwwwwwwww and coarse voice. I even had trouble telling the auntie : Ma Ti Sui Len de, (water chestnut water, cold). I had to repeat myself!

So anyway, it got alot better. I went to dig my fridge for some lozenges and found one that looked really medical-ly, it even tasted druggy; nothing like the strepsils kind. I think that was the game changer. Woke up with zest. Good. Had to get well in time for this Sunday's relative gathering thing. Can't miss out the food.

Finally went to play about an hour of bball with edwin and weemin. The sun was unforgiving. And i was dressed in full black. Lesson to self. Don't wear black.

And apparently i just figured i can actually jump and reach the board. I didn't know that. LOL. COOL.

Was accused for finishing the packets of vitagen bought from msia by mom. Turns out it was dad who drank it all up. For all these years it has always been my dad finishing up all the new year goodies, snacks what not. NOT ME. But my mom never trusted me.

But today during dinner she admitted it was my dad, so wth. let the matter rest.

Insomnia is coming back. Its the hols now and sleeping at 5am again is the norm. This is going to be interesting. Still remb the only person awake at such time would be kks. machiam insomnia buddy like that.

Also managed to contact suzanne from BZE the previous batch who went for OSIP in vietnam. She shared some details. Some are very not appealing while, well. thats about it.

Firstly, TP has a budget of $1000 for airfare. And suzanne told me vietnam airlines is the airline we will be taking, not SIA. Like wth, the ticket over to hanoi isn't even that expensive. Like abit stingy. But at least its not jet-star -.-

Secondly, its a 6day-work week for me. Off on saturdays. Work from 12-3pm, 6-9pm. Might have USD100 per month. YES. We don't get paid for it. Think its some contract thing. But doesn't matter cos lodgings are paid for by the company, so in all fairness, it really, is, FAIR!

Thirdly, weather is awesome. It will be the spring-ish season and temperatures will average between 15 to 20, or so i heard.

But now, i will have lots of work to do. This holiday isn't even a holiday. Its just, CRAP.

outta here.

Feeling sicky.

Papers are finally over. 2 weeks of what-should-be-project-dates holiday time should HOPEFULLY be well spent on what it really is meant for.

Went out with the class yesterday. I am so tired.

In 2 weeks, i have gone to orchard 5 times. NOT FUN.

Regretted to agreeing the time to start should be immediately after paper. But judging by the amount of shopping everyone did, its like, NOT ENOUGH.

Bused down to cineleisure, ate and walked. I really meant walked. Heeren>centrepoint>Rain>cine>Rain>wisma>Lido>cine>somerset.

And finally managed to play something at e2max. Was invited to their pre-launch party donkey years(actually i think its in 2004)ago, but never got to play. Apparently people that play LAN still suck at cs. lol. Steam ftw.

Caught quarantine. I know, it sucks. I KNOW. Accompanied Joel since he was so adamant on watching that crap. Marc too. Had the nachos chips thing at the cinema. i don't know wtf was that "cheese" mixture, but i swear, it looks like vomit with orange kaya. Definitely didn't taste like cheese. The nachos are the WORST. i don't know wtf is that too.

Completely predictable movie, but still a little scary at the faces part, but ok. Joel hid under his bag. Marc blocked his ears. I, being the REAL male, just watched and laugh.

Apparently Burger King really do suck now. Ordered double beef rendang burger. CANNOT MAKE IT. 2 thin slices of onion and apparently few drips of rendang on the beef. I remember last time the rendang OVERFLOWED. wtf.

That KFC wannabe restaurant with the whatever sale of chicken or whatever that is cooked in 100% extra virgin olive oil. I dont know what is extra virgin olive oil. Seems and sounds fancy to me. But i thought it was crappy. Expensive too. standards as bad as swensens. SERIOUS!

DON'T waste ur money on that.

Famous Amos Double Choc also tasted horrible. should have got the cinammon one. Its so horrible i gobbled 50grams worth in 1min. I wanted to save those bastards eyeing my cookies from eating such nonsense. haha.

Didn't shop anything. Nothing fancied me except a shirt from timberland. Other than the $50 after discounted price tag, the quality didn't make me pleasant. I hate those kind of stretchy stretchy material. Its like, if u sweat, it will hug to ur body. FAIL.

The new kopitiam stall downstairs that supposedly was voted for some good food by some channel U program last time opened last week. Finally tried the Hokkien mee. If u eat it, i swear u might fall in love with say, the WORST thing u have ever eaten. It is THAT bad. I don't know how it won that award crap.

The best hokkien mee took 12mins to fry. I knew cos i was busy smsing.

And i swear it tasted like heaven, just like how everyone thinks when they first saw me.

The mee was slightly wet, NOT moist, mixed with the appropriate chilli, OMJUAN.

Heaven On earth, again, exact same compliment others have gave to me.

Next, i don't post pictures even though i have em. Cos im too lazy to upload.

Bought shishamo from NTUC today cos it was on promotion. 16 fishes for $4. Quite cheap. Came home and ROASTED IT ALL. Shiok. Again, Heaven on earth. Of course i didn't eat all. I'm not you.

And new washing machine is coming! can't wait. Finally, no more lint-infested clothes. NO MORE.

Btw, if you're a foreigner and u're reading this, trust me. If its your first time in Singapore and you think u've ate the BEST you can ever find in our cuisine, trust me, ITS NOT. This is because its your first time eating food with proper flavour. WE, ASIANS, have eaten food thats flavourful and actually delicious. Consult an asian as to where to eat. Don't be a dumbass and eat at some crappy coffeeshop thinking thats authentic.
Outta here.

Oh btw, do get used to OH MY JUAN. its infective. tyvm.

Hohoho. I'm updating daily! Which basically means if you are late to read for a week, you might have to GET A LIFE. rofl.

Nothing much today. But i just love to type. After a really really long time i finally went to check my howaboutsomething.com admin page and looked at all the 42 pending comments. I was amazed. There was actually REAL foreigners elsewhere reading what i write. There was even one who decided to include me in their RSS reader. How, i don't know. I'm a blog newb.

Still, didn't bother to approve most of them. I have to individually click on em.

Read my past posts on howaboutsomething. Some were really nice to read. haha. Kinda bhb, but ok lah.

Tests coming up soon. 2 subjs. I think i can do it. But will still have to study for it.

Edwin enterring NS in January. Sad.
Weemin in July.

Me, 1.5 years later.

Oh my god. Orchard madness.

Went to do some shopping and got a polo tee from GAP. $60. hurr. Most expensive shirt ever bought. And its just a polo tee!

Pretty satisfied.

Not planning to zhng this blog like my howaboutsomething.com. No time, don't care.

Oh, and i went to get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm audio convertor. It was god-send. Now i can listen to my nokia mp3 without carrying around my iPod. Saves me the bulk and the bulge. And plugging in my very own set of $12.90(LOL) set of philips ear phones totally makes the standard issue nokia headset earphones look, and hears, super sucky. Now, im in love with Nokia for real.

Symbian, update your bloody software to remove the camera shutter sound. I need it off! or at least make it soft. Now every time i take a picture with my camera, it produces the loudest shutter sound ever.

Only way i can remove this manually is that i gotta flash my phone and im not prepared to do it till the warranty is past. Oh my juan. damn.

Tuna bread-ing.

My Howaboutsomething.com is expiring soon, and i really can't be bothered to update there anymore.

I actually feel sad that howaboutsomething is expiring, and i haven't been giving it the deserved attention it should received. Call me lame, but i love howaboutsomething.com. It was the very first domain i bought, and it was actually a business idea which i effectively abandoned. It was a very simple business idea so i shall not say it, but has been practised almost anywhere. It just became a blog, out of nowhere. There is just this sense of connection, affiliation and belonging. Its like the fruit of your labour. Its just, a undescribable feeling.

Nope, the business idea is not a blogshop. Blogshop is just a trend. It will die. Some will stay. But most will die. Its just like bubbletea. One is good, 2 is fine. 3 is a crowd. Ever considered what happens when such a great idea is being copied by almost everyone? EVERYTHING is the same. Best part is that some may fail in one, but hop on to another, boarding on the exact same concept but with a different idea. Call them a never-give-up-attitude. I call them dumb.

I figured that as much as socialising is important, opinions are inevitable. Whats the use of pleasing everyone, if you yourself is not pleased. You live your life. When you are of logical sense, people will understand that, and will automatically be your friends. So no use going around, grabbing everyone's attention. So if you know you are doing that, STOP it. be yourself. I'm not finger pointing here. No one in my social circle is doing that. I repeat, NO ONE. So don't go around guessing who i am referring to. DO that, and i will be referring to you for being guilty. Your choice.

There has been so many things happening in my life, many of them are first experiences but definitely a blast of fun to me. There is so many things i want to tell everyone, but would never have the energy and time to type something so simple.

For instance, the first time i had a proper guys only outing today, albeit extremely last minute. I like the steadiness, the non-fussiness of everybody. Very enjoyable actually.

In fact, many things that happened today was a first and i'm not shy about being exposed to some of these things that are so simple at a not-so-early date.

1) Had my first proper guys only gathering.
2) Paid my first sushi buffet myself.
3) Falling asleep for a brief moment in a movie theatre.
4) Actually buying movie tickets as the main decider.
5) Actually went to Far East with a goal in mind.

Sometimes its nothing more than something regular for you, might not be for me. I'm just glad that i'm still learning new stuff, and i love independence. I love my family for giving me the chance to be independent in such a short span of time. FYI, i had to ask permission to go out even in Sec 4. Its that serious.

Next up, Its the confirmation of my vietnam trip in March. I applied for a chance to go for TP's Overseas internship attachment, and i got in. I'm really excited. Really really excited.

But its gonna last 2 months. I will miss my family. I will miss everybody. But its part of growing up. Its precisely this exposure that i need. The longest time i ever left my family for another country with no family members by my side was for 3days in KL. Even that, was on a educational trip. This time, i will be totally dependent on my own willpower and my 3 grpmates.

I don't know how i will react when im leaving the for the airport. 2 months. 2 months is a really long time to be gone from my family, but a really short time for all the work to be done there.

We shall see.

I also received my first cheque from google. yes, google. How much the payment is, is strictly confidential, only some that saw the cheque will know. I love it. When the cheque arrived in the mail, it was as if it was christmas! haha.

Public Speaking was a total failure for me. I was not on my usual speaking self. I was never that forgetful of my lines. I was never the kind to go blank in my mind while speaking. But it happened. SUCKS.

Been meeting HDDD to get to school recently, it was definitely a very nice experience and i would like to do it more often. haha. the exchanges of jokes are definitely funny, but the bloody sleepy me can't laugh for nuts. For those that know my usual laughing volume, imagine my laughing at 20% strength. Thats how quiet the bus is, that i actually have to limit the laughing volume to the standard giggles.

Its the next guys outing this coming thursday again. Hopefully, we will have time to go do some proper drinking. Been looking forward to it. Might involve some female classmates. Will ask them. How? I want to get a new bag. I want to get new slippers. I want to get new clothes. I want to get new stuffs everyday. I want to be Santa's best friend.

And thank god, i almost bought a pair of croc's slippers today. Luckily the size available was only available in full black. I will NOT spend $53.90 on a piece of black crap. NEVER. I call this, a blessing in disguise. But i'm in love with Timberland's shirts. Very nice. I like the semi-rugged look. Timberland is the real deal, the real effort put into design and pattern instead of most companies that just designs a picture to iron-print it on a shirt.

And went to wisma today and managed to window shop Nike Singapore. They have customizable shirt designs. I thought it was a splendid idea. Always have been a fan of Nike. Some might just call it a simple tick. To me, its a tick of approval. lol

So we were introduced to the new service and was detailedly introduced to it by this very well knowledged staff. She was splendid. She introduced the products in a non-pushy tone but yet was able to capture ur utmost attention on something explicitly expensive.

Shirt = $27.
Designs = $12 onwards.
Add-ons(letters) = $2 each.

Read from the papers, the staff working in Nike Singapore had to go through a test before being employed, which probably explains their knowledge for it. Nice shop, great staff. Singapore is definitely on its way to be comparing customer service with HongKong. huat ah. lol

After typing this post, i thought it sounded abit sad. sigh.

Off to bed.
